What Is Ceremonial Cacao?

Ceremonial cacao is pure, unprocessed cacao. It's the original form of chocolate before it becomes candy.

It’s made from the whole cacao bean, stone-ground into a rich paste that retains its natural cacao butter, minerals, and pure essence.

Unlike commercial cocoa (which is roasted at high heat, stripped of fats, and mixed with sugar), ceremonial cacao is minimally processed, maintaining its full energetic and nutritional integrity.

What makes it “Ceremonial Grade”?

The word ceremonial speaks not only to its quality but also to the intention in which the cacao is made and shared.

For thousands of years, cacao has been used by the Mayan, Aztec, and Olmec peoples in ceremony to cultivate connection, presence, and community.

At Cacao Sol, we honor these traditions by working directly with farmers who still approach cacao with deep respect, care, and intention. To us, cacao is more than a commodity. It is a nourishing superfood meant to be shared and enjoyed as part of a more connected, balanced, and intentional way of living.

What are the Benefits of Ceremonial Grade Cacao?

  • Helps Boost Mood & Clarity: Rich in theobromine, this naturally occurring compound in cacao energizes the body by stimulating the cardiovascular system which neutralizes the jitters and sharp crashes that are commonly associated with caffeine.
  • Heart-Opening Cacao supports blood flow, and circulation due to the flavonoids in it which help stimulate the production of nitric oxide in the body. This helps relax and widen our blood vessels so that oxygen can move more efficiently through out the body.
  • Full-Body Nourishment: High in antioxidants, iron, natural saturated fats and essential minerals that help strengthen and nourish all of our bodily systems.
