Cacao Sol is a delicious, raw and pure chocolate sourced from sustainable farms in Ecuador. Unlike corporate powder forms of cacao, Cacao Sol is crafted with respect for the Earth and farmers.

I first encountered this magical, potent cacao at Aguacate which was located in South Miami. I went there on a sunny afternoon while the outdoor venue was still open. I ordered a cacao smoothie which was blended with banana and coconut water. The sunlight streamed through the palm leaves of the trees as I held the smoothie in my hand and tasted the chocolate sweetness. A few minutes later, I felt this intense happiness that I hadn’t experienced with the cacao smoothies I made at home. This nirvana feeling permeated my being and wrapped around my soul like a warm fluffy blanket on a cold, winter evening. Except this was Miami in the summer, and not only did I feel a sense of bliss, I also felt tremendous energy and vibrancy.

Fast forward months later, Aguacate closed, and I returned to Miami from a work trip to St. Petersburg. I wanted to try this smoothie again, but as Aguacate was no longer open, I ordered directly from Cacao Sol. I had kept their flyer with me in a purse, and it called to me with its colorful and artistic logo, so I ordered two chocolate bars and 1/4 pound of raw cacao to make hot chocolate.

When I took my first bite of the chocolate Cherry Mary, I melted with delight. The mix of harmonious flavors made me want to try more and share it with my life partner. We immediately felt a sense of euphoria that was a stark contrast to the conversations of that afternoon. Two months prior to the purchase, we had experienced Hurricane Helene flooding our apartment and personal property with unexpected storm surge. The hurricane was 100 miles away from St. Pete Beach, and we lived by the bay, but the water reached our apartment anyways due to the size and strength of the hurricane. We had naturally been through a challenging rough two months recovering from the aftermath and dealing with the renter’s insurance we did have, but also dealing with the flood insurance we didn’t have when we lived in St. Pete Beach, so of course we knew that the renter’s insurance wouldn’t cover storm surge and were naturally stressed from the situation.

Prior to tasting the chocolate, we had a conversation about Florida’s insurance market, and I felt overwhelmed by my to-do list. I know you’re supposed to eat this chocolate in ritual and as a ceremony, but I grabbed it after the conversation with the intention to give us an emotional reprieve from so much stress and tedious practicalities and to open up our heart chakras and take us out of the mind chatter we were feeling.

In the moments after we ate the chocolate, we kissed and hugged from the sense of euphoric feelings contained within us and between us. Our heart chakras aligned the way the ingredients in the chocolate did. I forgot about my to-do list and just centered on the moment between us, looking into his eyes and feeling love radiate from his being towards me. The stark contrast of the prior mood we had been in with the good vibes we were feeling was amazing. The chocolate melted any resistance to feeling close and intimate in that moment. We were laughing and kissing and enjoying this dark chocolate euphoria we were feeling.

Moments later, I remembered Luis’ handwritten note about the cacao opening up my heart chakra, and I recalled feeling earlier—before eating the chocolate—that the universe had sent me this sacred cacao in the mail.

I experienced the blissful potency of ceremonial grade cacao, and now I’m a convert to having it in its pure form rather than the powdered version of it you can get at a Whole Foods. I can see why indigenous Mesoamerican cultures revered its high vibration. If its ancient past isn’t enough, this is a superfood with high mineral and iron content with spiritual abilities to open up the heart chakra. I’m glad I trusted my intuition and experienced what the universe wanted to give me: cacao in its pure form.

This was my favorite chocolate from the two that I ordered: the other one being "Sacred Darkness with Almonds". I liked both of them , but this one had a perfect sweetness to it that balanced the slight bitter goodness of the raw cacao. You know it's potent when there's a slight bitter taste to it, and the rosemary adds a savory and interesting flavor that is surprising and unexpected. The dried cherries are the perfect sweet treat that aligns with the taste of the cacao. Pistachios, dates, and Himalayan sea salt seal the deal, and I was left wanting more: just a bite is enough to satisfy me, but I usually end up eating two squares, and that's more than enough to give me a sense of bliss and euphoria.

I was so excited to try this cacao pod and it totally delivers! Texture, taste, ease to use was great! I haven't found anything like this elsewhere and am really pleased with the quality.

A cup of CacaoSol is an essential part of my daily ritual. The journey that she goes through from birth to finding her way into my home is clearly full of love and care every step of the way.
